Group Exercise

Here at the Streator Family YMCA we take your health and wellness seriously. We offer a number of Group Exercise classes that are included with Annual and Bank Draft Memberships.  For the Group Exercise schedule, please visit the Group Exercise Schedule page.  These classes include the following:


Using Ripsticks®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising,  POUND® transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.

Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements.  Designed for all fitness levels, POUND


Zumba mixes low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility.

Total Body Transformation (T.B.T.)

This type of circuit training class will condition your whole body.  Taught by personal trainers Katie Morris and Cat Jabczynski, this class is similar to a group training session.

Group X-T

This “small group training class” will challenge you through a station based program using movements such as ball slams, battle ropes, mat exercises, body weight exercises, deadlifts, rowing and more. 

Group X-T Club

This class follows the same structure as our Group X-T class but classes are run by volunteers.


Spinning is a form of exercise focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity and recovery.  It involves using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel.

SilverSneakers Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises   designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living.
